Robert Eberhardt, born 1987 in Schmalkalden (Thuringia, former GDR), is a young German author and publisher. In 2008 he founded the edition “Wolff Verlag R. Eberhardt“, a individual home for books about cultural history, literature and issues, that concern the central region of Germany (Thuringia, Hessian, Saxony). In October 2010 the edition will be presented for the first time at Frankfurt book fair (place: 4.1 C115)
Furthermore he studies art history and history at Heidelberg (Germany) and 2010/11 at Paris (France). 2010 he founded “Gesellschaft Kulturerbe Thüringen“, a non-profit association, that wants to preserve the cultural heritage of Thuringia, an extraordinary territory in the middle of Europe with an amazing history and homeland of Martin Luther, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Wolfgang Goethe and the Bauhaus Weimar. The association is searching for international support concerning this cultural context, that has a worldwide impact and answers to questions of our days: How may we be able to retain great thoughts at a time of speediness, forgetting and global linking?
Robert Eberhardt already published three books. The last publication (2010): “Seume und Münchhausen“, is a book about a special relation between the famous German poet Johann Gottfried Seume (1763-1810) and the military Karl Freiherr von Münchhausen (1759-1836). Both made contact with each other in New Scotland in 1782 and cultivate a close and critical friendship.
At the moment Robert Eberhardt is living in Paris and preparing further publishing projects.
